Central Region Older Persons Association Ltd. (CROPA) is an indigenous non-governmental organization established in 2022 to promote the rights, dignity, and well-being of older persons in Uganda’s Central Region.
CROPA was formed by elected leaders of older persons from a majority of the 27 districts in the Central Region of Uganda. The organization was registered after two general meetings that identified the need for inter-district coordination, networking, and collective representation of older persons.
The leaders recognized that working together as a unified body would strengthen the voice of older persons, increase their visibility, and enable them to effectively express their concerns and priorities at both community and national levels.
