About CROPA
The Central Region Older Persons Association (CROPA)
(CROPA) is a membership-based organization dedicated to promoting the rights, welfare, and active participation of older persons in the Central Region of Uganda. CROPA brings together elected representatives, active members, and community supporters to advocate for inclusion, healthy aging, and lifelong learning.

Central Region Older Persons Association Ltd. (CROPA) is an indigenous NGO founded in 2022 to unite older persons across districts in Uganda’s Central Region, giving them a strong voice and improving their quality of life.

Our Programs
Weekly Healthy Ageing Radio Program
CROPA is running a weekly one-hour healthy ageing radio program on Radio Star 87.5 FM, every Sunday from midday to 1:00 pm. Air time is donated by the Ministry of ICT and the broadcast content is about anything that may enhance the health of older persons.
- Marketing Afya Plan Insurance scheme for older persons.
CROPA is also involved in sensitising older persons in preparing to confront financial shocks by marketing and distribution of an affordable insurance product underwritten by Liberty Life Assurance Uganda Ltd.
- Conducting Voter Education and Training of older persons.
The association in engaging the management of the Electoral Commission to accredit CROPA to conduct voter education and training. This will increase the participation of Special Interest Groups in community and national affairs and activities. This is beneficial to the social and mental health of older adults.
CROPA has already started mass voter education using the weekly radio broadcasts.
