WHAT WE DO AT CROPA

CROPA is committed to improving the quality of life of older persons through education, empowerment, and community support. We work with senior citizens, families, communities, and local leaders to promote dignity, independence, and active participation of older persons in society.
Through our programs, we strengthen communities, support economic independence, and promote peaceful coexistence between generations.

1. Health Education for Older Persons

We provide health education programs that help older persons live healthier and longer lives.

Our programs focus on:

  • Healthy lifestyles
  • Disease prevention
  • Nutrition
  • Mental wellbeing
  • Active ageing

Goal: Increase healthy lifespan among older persons.

We support older persons to become economically independent through:

  • Income-generating activities
  • Business skills training
  • Financial literacy
  • Savings programs

Goal: Reduce poverty among older persons.

We train elders in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) so they can help solve conflicts peacefully.

Elders help resolve:

  • Family conflicts
  • Land disputes
  • Community disagreements

Goal: Reduce expensive and time-consuming court cases.

We strengthen district-level older persons’ committees and councils.

Activities include:

  • Leadership training
  • Planning skills
  • Governance training
  • Monitoring programs

Goal: Strong leadership for older persons

We educate older persons about their rights and responsibilities.

We also advocate for:

  • Better policies
  • Inclusion of older persons
  • Social protection

Goal: Promote the rights of older persons.

We mentor young people to improve relationships between youth and older persons.

Programs include:

  • Cultural learning
  • Life skills
  • Guidance from elders

Goal: Bridge the gap between generations.

CROPA manages a Savings and Credit Cooperative Union that supports district SACCOs.

Services include:

  • Savings opportunities
  • Loans
  • Financial guidance
  • SACCO support

Goal: Improve financial stability of members.
